  8. Carreras during months of treatment for leukemia. Ranked with
  9. opera's superstars, he became ill two years ago. Last week, in
  10. an emotional Carnegie Hall concert, his voice was heard in New
  11. York City for the first time since 1987. Performing is now an
  12. even greater pleasure, he says. "Every time is like a miracle."
